Speaking to The Times, she explained that repeated rejection, childcare costs and mounting financial pressure left her feeling she had nowhere else to turn.

Her gamble quickly paid off. Cave initially expected to earn around $5,000 and leave the platform within months, but her hair-focused videos attracted thousands of subscribers after her Harry Potter connection helped her first post go viral.

She said the platform eventually earned her more in one year than her entire acting career. “I’ve earned more, easily, than my entire acting career within one year,” Cave said. Her content remains non-explicit, focusing on videos featuring her unusually long hair, and she says the income has “genuinely saved our lives.”

That success also played into a decision she had considered for years. Earlier this year, Cave underwent breast enlargement surgery, calling the procedure a “business decision.” She said subscribers effectively paid for it, while she had already wanted the surgery before joining OnlyFans. “I’ve always wanted a boob job,” Cave said, adding that she realized her hair “can only do so much” if she wanted to keep earning from the platform without becoming more revealing.

Still, Cave knows her unusual online career may have a shelf life. She admits she does not appear nude or even speak in most of her content, and she remains uncertain about how long the model can continue working financially. At the same time, she believes more performers could turn to subscription platforms “when they’re not being an artist.”
