Superman Plot Details Revealed for Villains in Toy Descriptions

New information about Ultraman, Baby Kaiju, and more characters who are featured in Superman has come to light.

Superman will be released in United States theaters this coming July. Written and directed by James Gunn, the DCU movie stars David Corenswet as the titular superhero, while Rachel Brosnahan portrays Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult is Lex Luthor.

What have we learned about the Superman DCU villains?

Descriptions for a new wave of Superman action figures from McFarlane Toys, via ComicBookMovie, reveal some plot details about the upcoming film.

Most notably, it reveals that the Baby Kaiju character actually appears to be the giant monster Superman is seen fighting in the trailers, as the description reads, “Baby Kaiju is unleashed in Metropolis, increasing in size at an advanced rate, he soon becomes a threat to the entire city.”

The description of the Ultraman figure, meanwhile, reads, “A mysterious and powerful foe working for LuthorCorp is a physical threat even to Superman,” while Lex’s states, “Tall, thin and bald and always impeccably dressed, brilliantly despicable billionaire Lex Luthor’s God complex is matched only by his malicious disdain for Superman.”

Baby Joey didn’t get a character description; however, Rex Mason/Metamorpho did, and it reads, “Donned only in a threadbare pair of wrestling trunks. Rex Mason, aka Metamorpho or The Element Man, is an eerie, haunted bald man with an ashen white face and a body that can be composed of different substances – clay, metal, and elements far more dangerous.”

The synopsis for Superman reads, “Superman, DC Studios’ first feature film to hit the big screen, is set to soar into theaters worldwide this summer from Warner Bros. Pictures. In his signature style, James Gunn takes on the original superhero in the newly imagined DC universe with a singular blend of epic action, humor, and heart, delivering a Superman who’s driven by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind.”

Superman will be released in United States theaters and IMAX on July 11, 2025, from Warner Bros. Pictures.
