Street Fighter: Ken vs Ryu Movie Trailer Gives First Look at Fan-Favorite Video Game Character

Paramount Pictures has released the new Street Fighter: Ken vs. Ryu trailer, which appears to offer the first look at a beloved video game character. The new preview also offers a closer look at the two iconic characters, along with interviews with the stars.

The Ken vs Ryu trailer for the highly anticipated Street Fighter movie focuses on the complex dynamic between the two popular characters from Capcom’s original video game. Ryu and Ken Masters have a long history as friends and rivals.

The trailer also appears to offer the first look at Gouken, the master who trained Ken and Ryu. At one point during the preview, viewers get a glimpse of a photo of the pair standing with Gouken.

What happens in the new Street Fighter trailer?

The Street Fighter: Ken vs Ryu trailer opens with gameplay footage of the two characters about to fight. It then introduces Noah Centineo as Ken Masters and Andrew Koji as Ryu. The preview features glimpses of exclusive interviews from the two stars and director Kitao Sakurai.

“Ken and Ryu go way, way back,” Centineo says, as some exciting shots from the fight scenes play. “They were training partners and friends for a very long time,” the actor adds.

Koji adds, “We are brothers, not actually blood brothers, that in this story have not spoken because there was an event that caused them to go on very separate paths.”

Teasing the two characters’ tense dynamic, filmmaker Sakurai says, “Their relationship is what makes them who they are. And that’s the big question at the heart of the movie. Will they rekindle their brotherhood or not?”

Set in 1993, Street Fighter follows Chun-Li, who recruits Ryu and Ken for the next World Warrior Tournament. However, the tournament is tied to a deadly conspiracy that forces the pair to face unexpected threats.

In addition to Centineo and Koji, the movie’s ensemble cast includes Callina Liang, Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoa’i, David Dastmalchian, Cody Rhodes, Andrew Schulz, Eric André, Vidyut Jammwal, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Jason Momoa, and more.

Street Fighter arrives in theaters on October 16, 2026.
