Directed by Sam Raimi, the original Spider-Man trilogy proved that the flagship hero of Marvel Comics could be translated into the present day, courtesy of Tobey Maguire. After the third installment, released in 2007, received a negative reception — before it became a cult hit — it was time for a refresh, which came via Andrew Garfield's Amazing interpretation in 2012 and 2014. But Spidey couldn't ignore the rapidly growing dominant force of the MCU, which the Friendly Neighborhood hero would inevitably have to join. His first leading role in the MCU came in 2017, as Tom Holland suited up as Peter Parker and never looked back.
