Solo Leveling just went live-action, but not in the way anyone predicted. A new trailer reveals the franchise’s boldest adaptation yet, featuring a World silver medalist in the lead role.

Solo Leveling on Ice musical launches new trailer

Solo Leveling on Ice has dropped a brand new trailer across its official social media channels.

Notably, the ice show adaptation of the hit webtoon and anime series introduces a refreshed cast for its upcoming run. South Korean figure skater and World silver medalist Cha Junhwan now leads the production as protagonist Sung Jinwoo.

Additionally, several fresh faces join Cha Junhwan in the new lineup. Kim Yerim steps into the role of Jinwoo’s love interest, Cha Hae-in, and Choi Woohyuk portrays Yoo Jinho. Meanwhile, South Korean influencer AMY takes on the part of Jinwoo’s old friend, Loo Joohee, while Lee Si Hyung plays Igris. The show originally premiered at Mokdong Indoor Ice Rink in Seoul, South Korea, last December. At that time, K-pop idol Kim Jinhwan of the group IKON starred as Sung Jinwoo during that initial run.

Now, the revamped production returns to Mokdong Indoor Ice Rink from August 7 to 17, 2026. Since its upload two weeks ago, the trailer has already surpassed 239,000 views on YouTube. Furthermore, the ice show is one of several Solo Leveling projects currently moving forward.

Beyond the ice show, the franchise continues to grow well beyond its original webtoon and anime roots. The anime’s second season wrapped up in 2025, and producers have confirmed Season 3 for later this year. In addition, a Netflix live-action adaptation also remains in active development. The anime centers on E-rank hunter Sung Jinwoo, who gains a unique power to level up following a near-death experience.

Fans can stream Seasons 1 and 2 on Crunchyroll ahead of the next chapter’s arrival.
