2025 was a relatively quiet year for Russell Crowe until November, when he finally starred in his long-gestating World War II courtroom drama, Nuremberg, along with Rami Malek and Michael Shannon. The film had been years in the making, and writer/director James Vanderbilt even credited Crowe’s resilience as part of the reason the film was able to cross the finish line. Nuremberg may not have overwhelmed at the box office, but the film did shine on VOD platforms like Prime Video before being added to Netflix earlier this month. To the surprise of no one, the WWII legal thriller was an instant smash hit, even winning over fans of The Lincoln Lawyer, who flocked to Crowe’s WWII-set drama while the fourth season winds down.
