A French politics observers says the allegations of antisemitism against the President of France’s National Rally have really really damaged the party. Andrew Smith from Queen Mary University of London says people have been buying into the detoxification of the party, despite its legacy as an antisemitic and racist party. But that makes the allegations against Bardella this week even more shocking. Bardella accused by the investigative news site Mediapart of sending a series of antisemitic remarks from 2013 to 2015. Andrew Smith spoke to us in Perspective.
