Haim have shared another new single – you can listen to ‘Take Me Back’ below.

The song is the latest preview of the LA sister trio’s fourth studio album ‘I Quit’, which is due for release on June 20 via Polydor (pre-order/pre-save here). It follows the recent songs ‘Relationships’, ‘Everybody’s Trying To Figure Me Out’ and ‘Down To Be Wrong’.

“We started writing this at my home studio on GarageBand. It immediately felt good cause it was nice and fast. We just had this refrain… ‘Take me back, Take me back‘,” frontwoman Danielle Haim wrote on social media.

“This was a very nostalgic time for the three of us because we all found ourselves single for the first time since we were all in high school. We were going out all the time, just the three of us (no boyfriends lol).”

She continued: “We brought the chorus to [Rostam Batmanglij, producer] and the rest of the song kinda flew out of all of us. [Tobias [Jesso Jr., co-writer] came over and we all just started exchanging crazy stories about our teenage years.

“Long story short – high school is insane. These stories are real. Names have been changed.”

Danielle then gave a shout out to the Los Angeles County High School For The Arts, which she and her sisters “were lucky enough to attend”. She also gave the “biggest shout out” to Batmangli “for creating this magical sound with us”.

“It makes me emotional because if teenage Danielle knew she would be making music that sounded like this, she wouldn’t believe it,” the musician concluded.

The rollicking, blues-inspired single sees Danielle fondly recall personal memories of the band’s youth, and includes the lines: “Alana lost her head when she had a crush/ Billy St. Reams didn’t wanna fuck/ Bad GPA, couldn’t get it up/ And I remember it.”

In the chorus, the group express their desire to relive these carefree days: “(Take me back) Just thinking about it/ (Take me back) Makes me emotional/(Take me back) I want it.” Tune in above.

Haim made their live return with a hometown show in LA last month. Here, they debuted another new track called ‘Blood On The Street’, featuring a guest appearance from Addison Rae.

Last weekend, the trio made an appearance at Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Liverpool. Haim are also due to make appearances at Primavera Sound in Barcelona and Porto this summer, and headline Margate’s Dreamland next month.

They have announced the North American and UK legs of their 2025 ‘I Quit’ arena tour too, with the latter scheduled to include a show at London’s O2. Find any remaining tickets here (UK) and here (North America).

In other news, the first teaser of Alana Haim and Josh O’Connor in Kelly Reichardt’s The Mastermind has been shared.
