Jonathan Rhys Meyers, teaming up with an Evil Dead Rise star, battles a horrifying creature in the trailer for The Room Below. The trailer was dropped on August 18, 2026.

The horror mystery film will star Alyssa Sutherland alongside Jonathan Rhys Meyers as the leads. Evil Dead Rise star Alyssa Sutherland will play Mia Levine, and Meyers portrays John Perkins.

Written and directed by Kurt Martin, the film will delve into the story of an author, Mia (Alyssa Sutherland), who is grief-stricken after losing her son. The synopsis of the film reads, “Haunted by the loss of her son, a mother sees a second chance in a boy who enters her life at the perfect moment. But as the creature hidden within her home grows more dangerous and difficult to control, a retired detective investigating a missing child begins unraveling a web of secrets that leads straight to her door, forcing a deadly confrontation with the truth.”

The horror mystery thriller is produced by Chris Chard, Ty Linegar, and Jim Robison.

What happens in The Room Below trailer?

The 1-minute 43-second trailer begins with Alyssa Sutherland, aka Mia, reflecting on her loss as her son died. Mia says, “I wasn’t present when he was all alone.” The narrative is then carried forward by Meyers, aka John Perkins, who tries to help Mia out of her grief.

The trailer then moves forward to reveal how Mia meets Simon, whom she refers to as Axel. She then shuts Simon in a room. Mia says, “I want you to be happy here, then you’ll want me to be your mother.” Eerie scenes then continue to unfold as a retired detective steps in to search for the missing boy.

Alongside Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Alyssa Sutherland, the cast of the film features Goran D. Kleut, Lauren Grimson, Kathryn Hartman, Bobby Gilchrist, Joanna Briant, and Gilbert Bradman, among others. The film will be released on Digital and On Demand starting September 1, 2026.
