Heat 2: Inde Navarrette Turned Down Role in Leonardo DiCaprio Movie, Reason & Role Revealed

Inde Navarrette was reportedly on the short list for starring in Michael Mann’s upcoming movie Heat 2. The Obsession star is no longer in the running for the part since her recent commitment to Marvel.

According to a recent report by Page Six, Inde Navarrette has walked away from a role opposite Leonardo DiCaprio and Christian Bale in Heat 2. The upcoming movie by Michael Mann serves as both a sequel and a prequel to his acclaimed 1995 crime thriller starring Al Pacino and Robert De Niro.

Heat 2 is based on Mann and Meg Gardiner’s 2022 novel of the same name. It follows the familiar characters from the original movie in multiple timelines. Besides DiCaprio and Bale, other A-listers reportedly linked to the project include Adam Driver, Austin Butler and Bradley Cooper.

Navarrette was in contention to play Sharlene in Heat 2, a character originated by Ashley Judd. However, she is no longer attached to the project in light of her recent commitment to Marvel’s X-Men reboot.

Inde Navarrette lands a major role in Marvel’s X-Men

Marvel Studios exec Kevin Feige announced the cast of the MCU’s upcoming X-Men reboot at Disney’s D23 on Friday. Inde Navarrette has been cast as Rogue, a powerful mutant who can absorb other mutants’ abilities via physical contact.

Rogue was previously played by Anna Paquin in 20th Century Fox’s X-Men film series, making her debut in X-Men (2000). Some of Fox’s X-Men original stars will return in Avengers: Doomsday. They include Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, James Marsden, Kelsey Grammer, and Rebecca Romijn. Whether Paquin will reprise her role as well remains uncertain.

MCU’s X-Men reboot cast also includes Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Christopher Abbott as Prof. X, and Maya Boyd as Storm. Meanwhile, Adam Driver will portray Mr. Sinister, the main villain. The movie will release on May 5, 2028.
