Every one of the most popular streaming services has a flagship sci-fi show to boast, and some have more than one — Netflix is still searching for its next sci-fi smash hit, but it will always have a tough time replicating the success of Stranger Things. Apple TV has quietly become one of the best streaming platforms in the world for original sci-fi programming, with its biggest shows, like Severance and Pluribus, scoring millions of viewers week after week. Hulu struggled for years to find a franchise-defining sci-fi property, but 2025 brought on Paradise, which has become one of its biggest shows of all time for the platform.
