There’s trouble ahead for the Dingles (seriously when isn’t there) in Emmerdale soon, as word gets out that Samson Dingle (Sam Hall) is coming home.

In the same week Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) attends his trial for causing the crash that killed Jimmy King (Nick Miles) and Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley), Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) learns some important information about teenager Samson and his future in the Dales.

In 2024, Samson befriended a dangerous teen called Josh.

During an altercation at The Hide, Josh shoved Samson into Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano), who was holding a kitchen knife. Samson was stabbed accidentally, and then coerced by Josh into reporting Matty for purposefully attacking him.

Samson kept quiet about the truth for ages, resulting in Matty going through absolute hell in prison. Eventually, the young man confessed everything to his family and the police.

He was arrested and charged with perverting the course of justice, being sentenced to four years in prison, and bringing his time on the show to an end.

This coming week, Matty heads to see his mum and tells her that he’s not getting enough sleep now baby Leyla is living at Emmerdale Farm.

Moira tells him he can move in with the Dingles (seriously how big is that house), but Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) senses trouble ahead as she knows Samson is due to be released.

Very quickly, Moira learns of Samson’s return and battle lines are drawn between her, Sam Dingle (James Hooton) and Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) over Matty moving into the room that Samson was going to have.

Clashing with Sam and Lydia leaves Moira alienated from her family.

Matty approaches Moira and tells her that she needs to forgive Samson, but is Moira ready to move forward?
