Denise Welch has let rip on a bin man after claiming he called her son a ‘c***’.

The Coronation Street and Loose Women star, 67, is no stranger to speaking her mind – but her latest social media post left many scratching their heads over her outrage.

On Monday Denise posted a tweet in which she took aim at a worker from the Brent Council who she alleged launched a foul mouth insult towards one of her sons’.

‘Hi @brent_council. You haven’t emptied my son’s bins in 3 weeks. Any attempts at due process has failed,’ she wrote.

She continued: ‘He tried to talk to a collector who called him a c***!! Can you let me know how we move forward!!!!’

Denise shares two sons with ex-husband Tim Healy – The 1975 frontman Matty, 36, and actor Louis, 25.

Although she didn’t specify which one was at loggerheads with their local council, many people were incredibly amused at the idea of rock star Matty potentially having his mum air a grievance about his bin collection.

‘Genuine lol at that Denise Welch post. Any sort of mystique Matt Healy has built up over the years has been dismantled in one tweet from his Mum to the local council about his bins,’ Luke posted on X.

However, within a few hours Denise had deleted her tweet, but followed up with another, which read: ‘So @Brent_Council has responded thank you. And I appreciate all of your comments which have made me laugh.’

Despite Denise softening against the local government body, her fans made it clear they still wanted more information.

‘Now that’s confirmed could you confirm which son please as it’s causing major upset in your comments not knowing,’ Melissa commented.

‘I won’t sleep until I see Matty’s empty wheelie bin Denise x’ Ryan declared.

‘Matty doesn’t deserve such a devoted and dedicated mother like Denise,’ Hanna added.

In a statement to Metro, a Brent Council spokesperson said: ‘We’re concerned to hear about these allegations and are looking into them with our contractor Veolia.’

In an interview with Metro last year – during which time she was promoting her Christmas song Slayyy Bells – Denise declared she loved doing her best to embarrass her adult sons.

‘[I was] thinking about what my kids would think,’ she said. ‘Because embarrassing your kids is one of life’s great joys. It’s why we have them, let’s be honest.’

However last month she admitted getting herself into hot water after sharing details of her eldest son’s life – including last year declaring she was ‘glad I lost the role of mother-in-law’ after he broke up with Taylor Swift.

‘I don’t like to talk about Matty’s personal life because it comes back and bites me on the arse every time with the press,’ she told The Guardian.

‘Matty understands what I’ve been through, for sure. I’m very proud of my kids and they love me very much, but I’m very respectful of their lives and it’s up to them to talk about it.’

Last year Denise also admitted to being a ‘helicopter parent’ with her sons and inserted herself into their lives with ‘military precision’.

‘The radar is on full alert at all times, and I insert myself into any aspect of their lives I can squeeze into,’ she wrote in her column for The i Paper last March.

‘Totally uninvited, I swoop in with military precision to offer advice and solutions to problems they don’t have.’

She went on to write: ‘I also feel the need to talk to them every day and if they don’t respond immediately to my calls or texts, I wish I could have an all-points bulletin or BOLO [an alert system used by police departments] out on them in minutes. Yes, I watch too much American television.’

Denise also said that if they didn’t respond to her quickly, she thought the worst and believed they might be in ‘serious danger’, despite knowing they are probably fine.

Metro has contacted Brent Council for comment.
