Coronation Street’s scheming Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) must be the schemiest schemer who ever schemed. Her latest plot is to steal her sister Shona’s (Julia Goulding) husband David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) from right under her nose…

Let’s face it. Having a screw loose in Soapland is a crowded field. We’re all still mourning the loss of the delightfully deranged Becky Swain. Who could forget the time she locked Carla Connor (Alison King) in an airing cupboard just so she could seduce her girlfriend Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers)? Classic stuff. Then there’s Mal Roper (Tim Treloar) the Unstable Cable guy, who’s so obsessed with Bernie Winter (Jane Hazelgrove) that he took a job in Weatherfield as an electrician just to stalk her properly.

There’s no doubt about it. If you want to hatch an evil plan on the Cobbles, you’ve got to stand out. Jodie Ramsey certainly puts on a good show.

Ever since she escaped the van of Emmerdale supervillain Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) in the Corriedale crash, this nefarious newcomer has acted all sweetness and light in front of her sister Shona.

The truth is, Jodie blames her sister for running away from their toxic household as a teenager, ‘abandoning’ her to their abusive father and enabling mother. She’s dedicated to destroying Shona’s life by tearing her family apart… and keeping the pieces for herself.

Why does Jodie deserve a place in the Coronation Street’s Bunny Boiler Hall of Fame? Well, first she attended a domestic violence survivors’ group therapy session just so she could spin an accurate sob story to Shona about escaping an abusive partner. She poured poison about Shona in the ears of her daughter Lily Platt (Grace Ashcroft-Gardiner) which was a little crazy.

Then there was the time she pretended to be the mother of Shona and David’s baby Harper in front of a total stranger, which was a lot crazy. Don’t even get me started on that creepy box of trinkets of hers filled with random stuff she stole from her neighbours.

Lately, Weatherfield’s answer to Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction has been all over the shop evil-scheme wise. Not content with framing Mal Roper for vandalising Bernie Winter’s wedding photo, the maniacal little madam started a secret vendetta against Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) merely for demanding she clean up her dog’s poo. In case that wasn’t dramatic enough, Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) has started to suspect that Jodie’s up to no good.

Despite all that chaos, Jodie still finds the time to ruin Shona’s life, as we’ll see in upcoming episodes of Coronation, where she kicks into gear a crafty plan to charm David, with worrying results…

When David reveals that he plans to spend his day off watching films, Jodie sees an opportunity for some alone time. She pulls a sickie to join him. Will Jodie make a play for David?

Later at No.8, David confides in Jodie that he’s swapped their broken wheelie bin with Lisa’s nice new one. Jodie is amused, which leads to some banter between the pair, which leaves David impressed to realise he’s met his match.

Come on, Shona! When will you wake up and kick out this cuckoo in the nest?
