Channing Tatum Leads Award-Winning Movie Josephine Trailer, Huge MCU Star Also in Cast

Channing Tatum’s new movie, Josephine, has recently released its official trailer. The film, which also stars MCU‘s Eternals actor Gemma Chan, had its world premiere at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival and is now headed for the theaters.

Josephine arrives in theaters on November 20, 2026. Written and directed by Beth de Araújo, the movie follows the eight-year-old titular protagonist who accidentally witnesses a brutal crime in Golden Gate Park.

The incident leaves her with emotional trauma, and she copes with it by acting out violently. It also leads to emotional fallout between her parents, who try their best to seek justice for their daughter and make her feel safe again. The trailer features a collage of several intense scenes from the movie, promising a gripping psychological thriller.

Newcomer Mason Reeves portrays Josephine in the film, while Channing Tatum and Gemma Chan play her parents Damien and Claire.

How Mason Reeves was discovered for Josephine

Mason Reeves has delivered a standout performance as the leading protagonist of Josephine, critics agree. The rising star had previously shared how she was discovered during an interview with SFGATE at Josephine’s premiere at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival in January 2026.

Reeves revealed that director Beth de Araújo scouted her at the Clement Street Farmers Market. “I was at the farmers market with our dog, and Beth just came over and scouted me,” the starlet shared.

She added, “My mom does commercials. And I wanted to be an actor, and I still do, but she said no because she doesn’t believe in child actors. But the universe granted my wish, and here I am, a child actress.”

Reeves also discussed working with Channing Tatum, with whom she shared an emotional father-daughter relationship in the film. “My favorite part about making the film was that I got to play games in between scenes,” the actress shared. “Like a high-five game with Channing, where he would pretend to give me a high five and then take it away at the last second and continue until I actually gave him a high five.”

Josephine has already received several accolades ahead of its upcoming theatrical release. The film won the Grand Jury Prize Dramatic and the Audience Award Dramatic at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival.
