It's been a rollercoaster year for fans of the long-running cozy British drama Call the Midwife, with Heidi Thomas' series going through some major changes and some even bigger rumors needing quick denial by the BBC. After reports suggested that the show was coming to an end, a spokesperson for the Beeb said that Call the Midwife "will remain at the heart of the BBC for years to come." They then doubled down on the exciting news that "there are two Christmas specials, a new series, a film and a prequel series, before a sixteenth series in due course. Call the Midwife isn’t going anywhere!"
