Zack Snyder’s Justice League is finding a new audience years after its original release. The director celebrated the milestone after the film entered Netflix’s Top 10 in multiple countries. The surprise streaming success sparked fresh excitement among longtime fans of Snyder’s DC universe and also reignited calls for the filmmaker’s return to the franchise.

Zack Snyder recently celebrated an unexpected achievement after Zack Snyder’s Justice League began trending internationally on Netflix. According to posts shared by the filmmaker, the four-hour superhero epic reached the Top 10 in 21 countries, including France, Poland, Sweden, Norway, Turkey, Greece, South Africa, Nigeria and several others. However, the movie is not currently available on Netflix in the United States.

Snyder marked the occasion by sharing artwork featuring Henry Cavill’s Superman dressed in the black suit. Fans quickly flooded the comments with messages such as, “As it should,” “Cause it’s the best superhero team movie ever,” and “Restore SNYDERVERSE.” Others wrote that the success was deserved and are hoping to see Snyder returning to DC someday.

The movie itself has one of the most unusual histories in modern Hollywood. Snyder stepped away from the original 2017 Justice League following a family tragedy. Warner Bros. brought in Joss Whedon to finish the film, resulting in major rewrites and reshoots. The theatrical version received mixed reactions and later became surrounded by controversy after several cast members accused Whedon of inappropriate behavior.

Years of fan campaigns eventually led to the release of Zack Snyder’s Justice League in 2021. The film stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller and Ray Fisher. It currently holds a 71% critics score and a 92% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, while IMDb users have rated it 7.9 out of 10.

Although James Gunn and Peter Safran are steering DC Studios in a new direction, Snyder’s version of The Justice League and Batman Vs Superman is hailed among long-time fans.
