Apple TV's Your Friends & Neighbors season 2 is very much like its main characters and subject matter – flashy, hollow, full of itself, and mostly meaningless. The series is the latest offering in Apple TV's flagship genre-blending dramedy style, made popular by modern Bill Lawrence streaming hits such as Ted Lasso and Shrinking. As such, scenes can linger past their welcome, characters take sharp story detours that aren't always engaging, and the series relies too heavily on its lead star, Jon Hamm, to pick up its slack.
