Young & Restless: Kyle & Claire Actors Address the Couple’s Future

Hayley Erin and Michael Mealor recently opened up about Claire and Kyle‘s future in The Young and the Restless in a recent interview, and things seem to be looking up for the new and exciting couple.

Here’s what they said about their characters’ future in the show.

The Young and the Restless’s Kyle and Claire are determined to make things work between them despite major opposition from Claire’s grandfather, Victor Newman. It seems that the two characters are still quite opposite on the spectrum but remain committed to each other.

Hayley Erin and Michael Mealor gave more insights as they sat down with Soap Opera Digest and revealed what they believe to be the future of the couple.

Speaking about how each character is viewing the relationship, Mealor said, “Yeah, Claire is convinced that it’s going to work, that’s for sure. It’s funny, I think Kyle is anything but convinced, which makes for fun storytelling.” He further elaborated how Victor is someone who seldom budges from his decision, adding to the problems of the couple.

But Claire is very different from Kyle. Erin shared her thoughts on the character, saying, “She’s just convinced that you can make people feel a certain way about things.” So, it seems that the path for Kyle and Claire in The Young and the Restless won’t be a straight one.

The two went on to discuss the impact their plan to impress Victor could have on Nikki’s big night but eventually arrived at the future of the couple. When asked if Claire and Kyle have what it takes to go all the way, Mealor said, “I love a good wedding! I mean, why not? You know, I do. To kind of piggyback on what I just said, I think this is the first truly healthy relationship that Kyle’s been in, and so I do think it has the opportunity to go the distance.”

“Yeah, right? I think it’s got so much potential, not only for their happiness together in the future, but also, there’s no shortage of drama that can come from the relationship,” added Erin.
