Why this clip of Sydney Sweeney and Jacob Elordi has sent the world into meltdown

A new trailer has finally dropped for season three of hit series Euphoria, and it's set the internet abuzz.

After a four-year wait, HBO has released a teaser for the show, starring Sydney Sweeney, Aussie star Jacob Elordi and Zendaya, and fans can't get enough.

The popular drama is set to return to screens on April 12, and if the trailer is anything to go by, fans are in for a huge season.

There seems to be a time jump since the last season, which aired in 2022.

The trailer shows Sweeney's character Cassie Howard posing in a bunny costume, cheekily making content to share online, which ruffles feathers with Elordi's character, Nate Jacobs.

We learn the pair are due to be married, with Nate referring to Cassie as his "bride-to-be".

"I was just making content," she tells him as he catches her posing for the camera.

A scene flashes up on screen, showing the pair in wedding gear and surrounding by flowers on their wedding day.

There's also plenty of drama, with Zendaya's character Rue Bennett, whose drug addiction is a central theme of the show, getting into trouble for owing people money.

"Went from Euphoria to Breaking Bad," one user wrote on YouTube underneath the official trailer.

"The way the three seasons of euphoria feel like three different shows now…" another remarked, getting thousands of likes.

Sweeney is now a household name in Hollywood and is currently making headlines for her work in The Housemaid, alongside Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar.

A sequel for the film has been confirmed, called The Housemaid's Secret.

Meanwhile, Aussie star Elordi is soon returning to thrill fans in the new adaptation of Wuthering Heights alongside Margot Robbie.

He will portray Heathcliff.
