The series has taken a five-year leap with a change in appearance of the cast, who are now mature adults. Jules is also now in her mid-to-late 20s. In Season 3 Episode 2, it is revealed that Jules has become a sugar baby who is financially dependent on older men. Her facial features have also changed as she had a baby face in Season 2. But now, she appears to have sharp features as she is shown navigating the struggles of adulthood.

Moreover, the change is visible in Jules’ makeup and wardrobe. As such, Donni Davy, Euphoria’s makeup artist, has shared that the changes in Jules’ makeup stem from her now complex lifestyle. In her interview with Elle, Davy was asked about the character’s older age influencing their makeup following the time jump in Season 3.

She said, “The girls are still using makeup with intention to show up as who they need to be with what they’re going through, but the motives are very different.” Davy further talked about Jules and noted, “Jules, for example, is in a darker place. Her wardrobe is a lot darker, and a lot of color from her world is gone. We translated this into her makeup with darker, more neutral looks that are more tailored for the male gaze.”

In Season 3 production notes, she noted that Jules is now dating men for money. So, her makeup is “moody with a darker color palette; a touch experimental and also a little dominatrix—all with a gloomy undertone.” Additionally, hairstylist Kim Kimble noted that Schaefer’s character’s long blonde hair reflects “a modern-day Rapunzel trapped up in the tower and letting down her tresses” (via The Direct).
