The question of ownership of duel is not in doubt. There are material concerns though regarding the owner and certain allegations that have come to light. The following is a look at what is reported so that players can be properly informed.
The basic facts
Duel is a crypto casino founded in 2023, licensed offshore in Anjouan. Its owner is Ossi Ketola, a Finnish high-stakes poker player who describes himself as a “First Amendment absolutist.”
What’s actually documented
On August 29, 2026, Duel organized and promoted a combat sports event in Orlando, its first foray into that space
The event’s winning fighter, Paul Miller, who fights under the name “Gypsy Crusader”, has SS lightning bolts tattooed on his chest. After his win he performed a Nazi, which a number of attendees in the crowd returned. One fan actually brought and displayed a Nazi Germany flag.
Miller directed a derogatory remark about his Jewish opponent’s ethnicity during his post-fight interview.
Miller was convicted of federal weapons charges in 2021 and sentenced to 41 months in prison, tied to social media posts about initiating a race-based conflict.
Paul Miller, fighting as “Gypsy Crusader,” faces King Azoulay at Duel Arena 1 in Orlando on August 29, 2026.
The concerns described here extend beyond the Orlando event itself.
This wasn’t an isolated incident tied to one event, but reflects a pattern already present in Duel’s own regular programming.
One of Duel’s blackjack dealers, Nelli Levonyan, has reportedly worn a full Nazi uniform, including a swastika armband, on multiple occasions while dealing cards on Duel’s own livestreamed content.
This was not at a third-party event, but part of the casino’s own regular broadcasts.
Ketola’s documented conduct
Ketola’s own documented conduct extends beyond the casino’s programming.
Earlier the same month, he reportedly attended a neo-fascist rally in Helsinki organized by a far-right political movement, livestreaming the event himself with a title referencing “saving white” Finland.
He was recorded shouting a Nazi salute on his own broadcast. He has also made disparaging public remarks about immigrants.
Duel’s public response
Following the Orlando backlash, Duel issued a public statement describing itself as “horrified” by the display of hateful symbols at its event.
Multiple observers have read this as insincere, deadpan messaging rather than genuine condemnation.
This was consistent with a promotional video the company released before the fight, narrated by Ketola, that appeared to critically frame Miller’s views before still promoting the event, and a since-noted celebratory comment posted from Duel’s own account after Miller’s win.
This has already drawn real regulatory and political attention
A Florida state representative has called for the state’s Athletic Commission to revoke the license of the venue involved.
A U.S. Senator publicly condemned the event.
Researchers tracking extremism have specifically noted that Duel’s offshore licensing in Anjouan makes any formal investigation into the platform more difficult.
This is a real, concrete example of the same offshore-accountability gap covered elsewhere on this site.
Jurisdictions with minimal oversight capacity make it structurally harder for anyone, including watchdog organizations, to hold an operator to account for documented misconduct.
What this means if you’re considering this platform
We have yet to see similar ownership concerns from other crypto casinos, and we want to be direct about why we’re treating it differently.
This isn’t a question of whether a license is real or whether beneficial ownership is disclosed.
It’s a documented pattern of the casino’s own owner and on-air staff associating the platform with genuinely hateful conduct and imagery, repeatedly, across both the casino’s own programming and an event it organized and promoted directly.
That’s relevant to any reasonable assessment of who you’d be trusting with your money and your data.
