MCU’s upcoming TV special The Punisher: One Last Kill is right around the corner. With its release date on the horizon, many fans are eager to know which villain Frank Castle will grapple with this time.

Who does Frank want to kill in The Punisher: One Last Kill?

Although Marvel has not officially confirmed who the main antagonist of One Last Kill is, fans have speculated that it could be Ma Gnucci.

The Punisher: One Last Kill is a highly anticipated television special starring Jon Bernthal. He’s set to reprise his role as Frank Castle. We last saw the character in the first season of Daredevil: Born Again. There, he was held at Wilson Fisk’s detention facility, which he later escaped from. The upcoming special will now see Castle gunning for a new villain, who many believe to be Ma Gnucci.

Principal photography for One Last Kill began in July 2025, shortly after which some set photos surfaced online. The snapshots captured a building with the sign “Gnucci’s Family Restaurant,” a reference to Isabella Carmela Magdalena “Ma” Gnucci. She is one of the most ruthless adversaries that Castle took on in the comics. A second set photo seemingly confirmed the suspicion, which showed Bernthal walking alongside a woman in a wheelchair.

The official synopsis of The Punisher: One Last Kill reads, “As Frank Castle searches for meaning beyond revenge, an unexpected force pulls him back into the fight.” Although Marvel has not confirmed whether the “force” is indeed Ma Gnucci, fans seem convinced that we might see the nefarious mob boss go head-to-head with Castle.

One Last Kill is written by leading star Jon Bernthal, along with Reinaldo Marcus Green. The TV film will hit the screens on May 12, 2026, as part of Phase Six of the MCU. Besides Bernthal, the movie also stars Jason R. Moore as Castle’s close friend, Curtis Hoyle. Other cast members include Roe Rancell and Mila Jaymes.
