The New York Giants are mostly doing well with their draft picks. GM Joe Schoen has successfully added some of the best prospects of the class to their roster. Starting with Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter, who was selected on Day 1 as their first overall pick at No. 3. Then came Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart, a surprise pick at No. 25 overall after they traded up for another bite in the first round. After bringing in veteran QBs Jameis Winston and Russell Wilson, the Giants still drafted a young quarterback, just as many expected. And as some had speculated from Schoen’s son’s Instagram story, they picked Dart over the name many analysts had earmarked – Shedeur Sanders.
Speaking of which, who are Joe Schoen’s children?
Meet Joe Schoen’s children
Joe Schoen has three children, a son and two daughters. His older daughter, Sydney Schoen, attends Ole Miss. His son, Carson Schoen, often gives him advice when it comes to the draft. Last year, Carson suggested that his dad should pick quarterback Jayden Daniels. However, Daniels wasn’t expected to be available by the time the Giants were on the clock. As it turned out, Jayden Daniels had arguably the most successful rookie quarterback season in NFL history, showing that Carson had a good eye for talent.
This year, just a day before the draft began, Carson posted an Instagram story about Jaxson Dart. It immediately got people wondering if the Giants were planning to draft him, and sure enough, they did. The Ole Miss connection to Sydney sure would have played a part.
This is a developing story. Stay tuned…
