Hilary Duff recently paid a tribute to her late ex-boyfriend Aaron Carter. This happened during the singer-songwriter’s concert for her The Lucky Me tour. Duff and Carter’s relationship began in their teens and lasted for three years.

On August 9, during her Philadelphia show, the 38-year-old paid tribute to her ex-boyfriend, who passed away in 2022. Duff wore a vintage white T-shirt featuring a picture of the singer-rapper from his heyday.

Aaron Carter passed away at age 34 by drowning in his bathtub due to the effects of difluoroethane and alprazolam on November 5, 2022. The recent heartwarming gesture by Duff caught the attention of many fans on social media.

Duff and Carter’s relationship back in 2000 began when they were both 13 years old and was one of Disney’s biggest news stories of the time. Duff was invited to the late teen pop singer’s 13th birthday party, and that’s when the duo first met. The former Disney star then pitched the idea of having Carter make a cameo in her show.

In the iconic holiday episode for Lizzie McGuire, Carter guest-starred as himself, and they shared an on-screen kiss, taking the relationship off-screen. However, the pair experienced an on-and-off dynamic during their three-year relationship, including a complicating love triangle involving Lindsay Lohan.

Duff and Carter officially split in 2003, after the latter briefly began dating Lohan. Although the two did not appear together on screen or keep in touch after their breakup, Carter took to social media in 2014 to call Duff “the love of his life” in a now-deleted post.

However, Duff married Matthew Koma on December 21, 2019. The late singer eventually moved on and engaged to Melanie Martin in 2020, followed by the birth of their son in 2021. A year later, he tragically passed away, and Duff posted a heartfelt note on her Instagram, noting how deeply her teenage self loved him.
