New police records have revealed that the Santa Monica sober living facility where Presley Gerber died in September was the site of a prior emergency response involving a severe overdose just seven months earlier. The records indicate that Santa Monica police were called to Resolutions Living on February 18, 2026, to assist an unresponsive individual.
During that February incident, it reportedly required five doses of Narcan to revive a female patient at the facility. This previous emergency occurred on the 1000 block of Berkeley Street, the same location where the 27-year-old son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber would later be found unresponsive on September 20, 2026.
Police records indicate a previous emergency call at the facility required five doses of Narcan to revive a patient.
Regulatory Status of Resolutions Living
The facility is marketed as an ultra-luxury recovery residence, but official records confirm that Resolutions Living is not a state-licensed substance-use disorder residential treatment facility. In California, “recovery residences” often operate as peer-led housing environments rather than clinical medical centers, meaning they are not subject to the same rigorous state oversight as licensed medical detox or residential treatment programs.
This distinction is significant in the ongoing investigation into the death of Presley Gerber. While licensed medical facilities must meet specific staffing and medical protocol requirements, sober living homes typically focus on providing a drug-free environment without providing direct clinical care. Gerber was admitted to the facility on September 19, 2026, and reportedly arrived while under the influence of drugs. He died approximately 12 hours after his admission.
Investigation and Family Response
The Santa Monica Police Department is currently investigating Gerber’s death as a suspected overdose. The case has brought renewed attention to the safety protocols at high-end recovery homes, particularly regarding the admission of residents who are actively using substances at the time of entry.
Following a period of privacy, Cindy Crawford, Rande Gerber, and Kaia Gerber shared their first public tributes to Presley on October 18, 2026. The family has not publicly commented on the specific regulatory status of the facility or the newly revealed February police response. Police have not yet announced any legal or regulatory penalties against the facility or its owner in connection with the September death.
