The first owner of Jessie was Emily, who gave her away to a charity. The deleted scene was revealed during an exclusive with Entertainment Weekly. The encounter took place years later, when Emily has grown up to be a grandmother. Jessie, Bullseye, and the group of Buzz Lightyear toys spot old Emily in the backyard playing with her grandchild.

Harris revealed about the behind-the-scenes clip, “We love Jessie and from the beginning we always wanted to make sure she had a very satisfying catharsis at the end of this film.” The storyboard artist further added, “Jessie deserves closure on her past.”

In the deleted scene, Jessie was skeptical about meeting older Emily. But Bullseye’s actions finally led Emily to spot Jessie, introducing her grandchild to the cowgirl doll.
