One of Tom Cruise’s best movies, A Few Good Men, is getting a remake, but there is a catch. There is also a confirmation on the actors who are replacing him and Jack Nicholson. The late Rob Reiner directed the 1992 movie from a script by Aaron Sorkin, who developed it from his 1989 play.

Revival of Aaron Sorkin’s A Few Good Men is heading to Broadway

The veteran screenwriter’s play is getting a Broadway revival at The Vivian Beaumont Theater, one of the most prominent venues located in the Lincoln Center complex.

In an announcement, Lincoln Center Theater has unveiled that Tom Blyth and Bradley Whitford have joined the cast of A Few Good Men. Blyth, who gained widespread recognition for playing Coriolanus Snow in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, will essay the role of Lt. j.g. Daniel A. Kaffee, Tom Cruise’s character in Reiner’s movie adaptation.

Meanwhile, Whitford, who has worked with Aaron Sorkin in multiple projects, including The West Wing, will portray Lt. Col. Nathan Jessep, a character who got Jack Nicholson an Oscar nod. Moreover, multi-Tony winner Michael Arden is directing the play.

The synopsis of the play states, “Military lawyer Daniel Kaffee is known for his wit, charm, and uncanny talent for closing cases before they ever get to trial. When assigned to defend two young Marines accused of murder, his typical strategy is upended by Lt. Commander JoAnne Galloway, a sharp attorney determined to prove the men’s innocence. But the evidence soon leads them to a cover-up, putting them on a collision course with the entire chain of command” (via Broadway.com).

Notably, A Few Good Men is one of the most celebrated legal dramas of all time. The movie garnered four Oscar nominations, including Best Picture. Besides Cruise and Nicholson, the cast includes Demi Moore, Kevin Bacon, Kiefer Sutherland, and Kevin Pollak.

Additionally, the play will start performances on October 8, 2026, before its opening night on October 29. It will reportedly run for 13 weeks (via Variety).
