Tobey Maguire’s Non-Spider-Man $527M Blockbuster Is Leaving Netflix Soon

The animated comedy The Boss Baby will soon be leaving Netflix. Released in 2017, the movie features a star-studded voice cast, including Tobey Maguire and Alec Baldwin, and centers on a talking infant who arrives in his family with a mission. The movie also became a box office success, earning $527 million worldwide during its theatrical run.

The Boss Baby to leave Netflix next month

The Boss Baby is set to leave Netflix next month. According to What’s on Netflix, the film will be removed from the streaming service on October 1, 2026. Directed by Tom McGrath and written by Michael McCullers, The Boss Baby was released in theaters on March 31, 2017.

The film follows seven-year-old Tim Templeton, whose life changes when his parents bring home a new baby who quickly becomes the focus of their attention. Tim soon discovers that his younger brother can talk and is actually involved in a plan connected to the CEO of Puppy Co. The brothers initially struggle to get along, but they eventually join forces to stop the company’s scheme and save their parents, developing a close bond along the way.

The film’s voice cast features Alec Baldwin as Theodore Lindsay “Ted” Templeton Jr., also known as the Boss Baby, Miles Bakshi as Timothy Leslie “Tim” Templeton, Tobey Maguire as Adult Tim, Jimmy Kimmel as Theodore Lindsay “Ted” Templeton Sr., and Lisa Kudrow as Janice Templeton, among others.

The film received mixed reviews from critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, it has a 53 percent score from critics based on 178 reviews. Meanwhile, its audience score currently stands at 51 percent.

Despite the mixed critical response, The Boss Baby performed strongly at the box office. It earned approximately $175 million from domestic theaters and just under $353 million internationally, as per Box Office Mojo.
