The Magicians was one of the best fantasy shows on television during its five-season run, which makes it a surprise that it was canceled early. Focusing on Jason Ralph's Quentin Coldwater, who enrolls in Brakebills University for Magical Pedagogy to be trained as a magician, the series was a bit more of a mature take on the idea of a magical school for students. Instead, The Magicians featured dark moments throughout. With its premise, it was able to tell engaging stories while exploring the stellar characters that were at the heart of the show.
