Okay, yes, it's true that there is a literal Supernatural episode titled "Jump the Shark," but, ironically, that was nowhere close to the actual shark-jumping moment that would later shift the series' tone into what would essentially become parody over time. There are a lot of opinions about when exactly Supernatural began to turn for the worst. Some say that anything after Season 5 could be discarded as the original mytharc was complete and series creator Eric Kripke stepped down as showrunner. Others say it was the Leviathan arc or the fact that Sam (Jared Padalecki) didn't look for Dean (Jensen Ackles) when he was trapped in Purgatory. But perhaps the most obvious moment that the series officially went off the rails was at the end of Season 9, when Dean became a full-blown demon.
