Some sci-fi movies get better with age because audiences finally catch up to how weird they really are. That is absolutely true of Event Horizon. The film was not fully embraced when it first arrived in 1997, but over time it has become a real cult favorite for fans who like their space stories darker, nastier, and a lot more cursed. It will be free to stream on Kanopy starting April 17.
