Despite having a lukewarm run at the box office, Steven Spielberg's first sci-fi movie in nearly a decade, Disclosure Day, emerged as a major hit on the PVOD market. A few weeks earlier, the very Spielbergian sci-fi blockbuster Project Hail Mary also continued its smashing streak after debuting on home video. However, the year's biggest sleeper hit hasn't immediately been able to replicate its theatrical success at home. The movie in question premiered in theaters in May and emerged as a word-of-mouth sensation. Over the course of its run, the film broke numerous box-office records on the back of intense fan-frenzy and unanimous critical acclaim. It was added to the Peacock library on July 17.
