Traders,
I look forward to sharing some of my top ideas for the week ahead, comprising both swing and potential intraday opps.
So, let’s get right into it!
Follow-Through in SPCX: Starting off with SPCX. An absolutely brilliant move on Friday, catching many off guard following the most widely publicized lock-up expiration probably of all time. As of now, I have exposure to the long side, and I’m looking for a gap on Monday and/or continuation higher, ideally into the 140 – 150 region, to exit the final piece of the long. If we get a gap higher on Monday, I’d be looking to reduce exposure. Alternatively, if we open flat/slight gap higher, wash out near 130 / 2-day VWAP and reclaim, I’d be looking to add to the long side. Later in the week, I’d love to see a potential pullback trade develop in the name. So for that to play out, I’d need to see SPCX extend to 150 – 160 and ultimately top out / fail to follow through intraday for an intraday / 2-day fade opportunity.

2-Way Trading in Memory: MU / SNDK, etc., have my attention, and I’m keeping an eye on them due to their positioning on a higher timeframe. Let’s focus on MU for this – It’s formed a tight flag pattern, near converging SMAs, with 820 support and 920 roughly resistance. I’ll be eyeing the sector for any relative strength/weakness and holding below or above key levels for a possible intraday momentum trade, going with the trend above or below inflection levels.

Continuation in AMZN: Nothing to do just yet in AMZN; however, it’s holding its earnings gap exceptionally well. The 5-day has caught up well to price. Ideally, another day or two of holding this developing base before taking out the prior day’s high or 280 – which would get me to put starter risk on the long swing. If this pushes above 280 with an uptick in volume and bases intraday near HOD, I’ll be in with full size for a potential 2 – 3 day long swing trade.

Additional Names on Watch:
HTZ: Held up fairly well on Friday. For the squeeze idea to play out here, I’d need to see HTZ hold above Friday’s 2.50 resistance as a starter, then look to add to the long above Friday’s high.

HPE: Held up well all of last week. If it displays notable rel. Strength, I’d be open to a long above Friday’s high, with an LOD stop, to see if it gets going above last week’s range.

CSCO: Earnings on August 12. Nice base last week, above its higher-timeframe resistance. Watching post-earnings to see if this breaks out of its base for continuation post-earnings.
