The telltale sign Wayne Rooney is hiding I’m A Celebrity ‘secret’ revealed

Wayne Rooney has only done more to fuel the rumour that he’s taking part in this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! after appearing on This Morning. 

Coleen Rooney was the biggest I’m A Celebrity signing of all time when she entered the jungle in 2024, banking a reported £1,500,000 and was worth every penny when she came second to McFly star Danny Jones. 

It’s now been widely reported that her football star husband will be following her lead and hoping to be as popular with the public as she was. 

And speaking to hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, the former England captain did little to dispel the rumours. 

Ben raised the reports Wayne was entering the jungle and said: ‘Obviously, we’re all very excited about the new series. 

‘You’ve got an inside track of what it would be like… you’re looking fit and healthy, so you’re ready for the shower shot in your swimming trunks, with the six pack.. is it something you’re considering?’

Looking suspiciously sheepish, the football pundit grinned: ‘No, I’ve been asked all the time as well, and there’s obviously rumours being thrown the last few years, and there’s rumours again this year.

‘So you’ll have to wait and see…’

‘You’ll have to wait and see?’ asked Ben, which was met with another coy smile from the sporting legend. 

Body language expert Judi James was far from convinced by Wayne’s denial, telling Metro: ‘Wayne is pretty rubbish at the body language of nonchalance and his leakage signals here imply that under the “casual” shrugs and the playful stare he might well be hiding some excitement about getting into the jungle after the success of his wife.

‘His metronomic leg swing suggests an almost childlike excitement, as though he is keeping a secret, and although he holds eye contact as he’s asked about the show and raises his brows to try for a poker face, he then performs a lowered eye-dart as though working out what to say then looks aways quite quickly to mask his eye expression.

‘The shrug at the end is presumably supposed to signal that nonchalance but it only involves one shoulder which makes it unconvincing in terms of trying to shrug off the rumours.’

Should Wayne spend the winter eating kangaroo testicles, he’ll be in good company as the rumoured I’m A Celebrity line-up includes the likes of Mis-teeq singer Su-Elise, Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson, Love Island star Chloe Burrows and former Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson.

An insider told The Sun on Sunday: ‘Wayne is in advanced talks for I’m A Celebrity and if they secure him, he’ll be their biggest signing in the show’s history.’

Wayne and Coleen are currently promoting their fly-on-the-wall reality TV show which launched on Disney+ today. 

The couple have been together for an impressive 24 years, and have only grown in popularity since Coleen’s hugely successful I’m A Celebrity stint. 

Speaking to Metro, Coleen revealed why she is now taking more opportunities that come her way, after her enormously publicised court case with rival WAG Rebekah Vardy. 

‘The court case wasn’t planned, and it was the worst period in my life. I absolutely hated it,’ Coleen told us.

‘And I didn’t want to thrive off the back of that. However, it was worldwide news and afterwards I wanted to tell my story and close a book on that period. I’ve felt a lot of love from people.

‘It gave me that little bit of confidence to think, do you know what? Let me take up some of those opportunities that I’ve been getting and go back to the things that I do love, as well as being a mum. I think it was the support from the public that just egged me on that little bit more.’
