Fans of Jo Nesbø's Harry Hole novels are experiencing what Lee Child's audience did with Prime Video's Reacher. The Harry Hole books were recently adapted into a well-received streaming series on Netflix, which instantly erased the memory of the ill-fated 2017 theatrical adaptation, The Snowman. Reacher readers went through the same emotional roller-coaster when Prime Video debuted the faithful streaming series in 2022, starring an actor who closely resembled the titular character. Fans felt Alan Ritchson was born to play the role, particularly after the character was portrayed by Tom Cruisein two movies. Even Child went on to admit that Cruise was miscast as the famously towering Reacher. However, both theatrical Reacher movies continue to do well at home, even more than a decade after the first one's release.
