The 'Jurassic Park' Sequels May Not Be Great, but at Least They Get This One Thing About Alan Grant Right

When Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park came out in 1993, it dominated theaters, becoming one of the biggest box office draws of all-time. Audiences were in awe of the practical effects and game-changing CGI in this story of dinosaurs running amok. Still, no matter how amazing the movie looked, Jurassic Park couldn't have succeeded without characters we didn't want to see eaten. Jeff Goldblum gave an iconic performance as Dr. Ian Malcolm, but the biggest leads are Sam Neill as Dr. Alan Grant and Laura Dern as Dr. Ellie Sattler. The two are in a relationship, but Grant is adamant that he doesn't want kids. It leads to some funny moments in Jurassic Park, but thankfully the sequels didn't try to change Grant and make him a doting family man, a move which would have completely ruined his character.
