HBO has spent decades convincing me to care about people I would probably find exhausting in real life. Terrible parents, impossible spouses, frightened soldiers, detectives who make spectacularly bad decisions. One specific dwarf who knows things. Give me enough time with them, though, and I'll start defending their behavior to anyone unfortunate enough to be watching beside me.
