Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) shares her concerns about Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) with Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) in Emmerdale this evening.

The local GP started to wonder if something was going on with Gabby when she began ranting about medication and big pharmaceutical companies.

She then discovered that Gabby had been creating dangerous health content for social media that was being watched by the likes of Clemmie and Dotty.

After gaining access to some concerning test results of Gabby’s, Manpreet came to the conclusion that she has developed orthorexia.

Gabby wasn’t in a position to accept Manpreet’s diagnosis and sent her away. In tonight’s episode, Gabby’s health gets worse, and it leads to a terrifying moment for her.

In the pub, Manpreet updates Laurel about Gabby and her social media posts.

Meanwhile, Gabby is in The Hide, busy adding a number of filters to a selfie to make her look completely different.

When Ruby Miligan (Beth Cordingly) and Sadie King (Patsy Kensit) turn their noses up at the bistro’s healthy menu, Gabby begins to feel terribly overwhelmed, and her feelings only get worse when she finds some nasty comments on her social media account.

That afternoon, Laurel enters The Hide to look for Gabby, but has no idea that she’s experiencing a panic attack.

Up Next

No episode of the ITV soap tomorrow due to football, which means your next visit to the Emmerdale village will be Wednesday, October 7.

Laurel finds Gabby in The Hide and tries to get her to open up about how she’s been feeling. Disaster strikes seconds later, as Gabby collapses and Laurel has to call an ambulance.

In the hospital, Gabby gives Manpreet permission to tell Laurel about her orthorexia. It’s an emotional time for Gabby, but it seems she’s ready to begin her recovery.

‘It can always trigger you,’ Rosie Bentham said, reflecting on how Gabby’s diagnosis has changed her future. ‘So it’s being amongst those people as well, that have been through a journey, come out if it. Yes, there’s other stories in the mean time but Gabby will probably always have the tendencies to control some aspect of her life and take charge.

‘Maybe this will change her attitude towards men, relationships, maybe she will focus on family a little bit more and realise the benefits of having a balanced life with Thomas, her child. We’ve seen her restrict him as well as her. Let’s see where it goes!’.
