Landman Season 2 is on a steady pace of production ahead of its November 2025 release window, and the show’s leading star has just pulled back the curtain on one of the most emotional moments from Season 1. Starring in the lead role of Tommy Norris in Landman is Billy Bob Thornton, who takes over the President of M-Tex job from Monty Miller (Jon Hamm) after he dies at the end of Season 1. While he’s still in the hospital before he passes, Tommy and Monty are catching up when Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones walks in and delivers an all-time speech. During the Landman panel at the Newport Beach TV Festival last weekend, Thornton spoke about how this cameo came to be and just how shocked he and Hamm were to watch it happen:
