2024 marked the end of an era for Taylor Sheridanwith the debut of Yellowstone's final season. In many ways, Yellowstone was the quintessential Sheridan show: it pioneered his particular brand of rugged, morally flexible protagonists, and its success not only launched a fleet of spinoffs but helped Sheridan build his own television empire on Paramount+. Yet the final season of Yellowstone was marred by the absence of Kevin Costner's John Dutton, not to mention the behind-the-scenes drama that led to Costner's departure. Sheridan has another chance to deliver a fitting end to one of his series, as Mayor of Kingstownis slated to debut its final season next year.
