Karisma Kapoor's ex-husband Sunjay Kapur passed away at the age of 53. As per reports, he died of a heart attack. He breathed his last in London during a Polo match. However, there are several reports suggesting that the cause of his demise is a bee. Initial reports suggested that he got stung by a bee and then suffered a heart attack. However, there are reports claiming that he swallowed a bee during the match that led to his demise.

As reported by news agency ANI, business consultant Suhel Seth claimed that 'Sunjay died of a heart attack, apparently after swallowing a bee during a polo match in England'. However, there is no confirmation as yet. Sunjay Kapur's company Sona Comstar also released a statement, however, refrained to divulging information about the cause of his demise. The statement read, "Sunjay was a visionary leader and a compassionate person whose guidance shaped Sona Comstar's success. His vision, values, and dedication to excellence has left a lasting legacy for the Company. On behalf of Sona Comstar, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all those influenced by his remarkable life."

Sunjay Kapur married Karisma Kapoor in the year 2003. It was his second marriage as earlier he was married to Nandita Mahtani. Sunjay and Karisma's marriage lasted for more than a decade and they had two children - Samaira and Kiaan. In 2014, Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay Kapur opted for divorce. After a court battle, they were granted divorce in the year 2016. As per reports, Karisma and Sunjay Kapur remained cordial with each other for the sake of their children. Later, Sunjay Kapur married model-turned-actor Priya Sachdev.
