Steven Universe Season 5

Some big announcements from Warner Bros. are coming out of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. Alongside two new cartoon unveils, Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network revealed that Teen Titans Go! has been renewed for a tenth season.

Created by Michael Jelenic and Aaron Horvath, Teen Titans Go! Season 10 will continue following Robin, Starfire, Cyborg, Beast Boy, and Raven as they embark on all-new comedic adventures, “giving viewers a look at what life is really like as a teen superhero… once the cape comes off.” Some artwork celebrating the Season 10 renewal was shared by Warner Bros. and DC and can be viewed below.

What is Teen Titans Go!’s latest renewal?

Per The Hollywood Reporter, the Season 10 renewal extends Teen Titans Go!’s record as the longest-running DC animated series. The only competition the show might have in its future is from Harley Quinn, which has a sixth season in development. However, it’s likely impossible for any future cartoon to match the number of episodes the series has released over the last 12 years, which currently stands at an impressive 420.

Also announced at Annecy was a new addition to the Steven Universe franchise. A sequel series focused on supporting character Lars Barriga is in the works at Prime Video. Titled Steven Universe: Lars of the Stars, the sequel “follows Lars Barriga, eternal teenager and space outlaw, as he and his pirate crew smuggle contraband, evade the authorities, and uncover the darkest secrets of the fallen Gem Empire,” per the official logline.

If Prime Video decides to order Lars of the Stars to series, it will mark the first show in the Steven Universe franchise to not air on Cartoon Network. The original series ran from 2013 to 2019, with its feature-length continuation also airing on Cartoon Network in 2019. Steven Universe Future, which served as an epilogue to both the show and the movie, also aired on Cartoon Network from 2019 to 2020.

Additionally, Cartoon Network announced an Adventure Time spin-off, Adventure Time: Side Quests. The forthcoming cartoon will take audiences back in time to when Finn was just a kid who dreamed of epic quests and monster fights with his best friend, Jake the Dog.

A premiere date for Teen Titans Go! Season 10 will be announced at a later date.
