The summer box office season came to an end with solid (if not spectacular) results. Overall business stood at roughly the same level as last year's $3.6 billion, with no movies passing the coveted $500 million mark domestically. Among the biggest recent hits, however, is the horror epic Weapons. Directed by Zach Cregger, the movie reclaimed the number one spot on the domestic box office charts for the third time in its run, having been briefly unseated last weekend by Netflix's KPop Demon Hunters. Weapons grossed around $12 million in its fourth frame, and is projected to take its running domestic haul to nearly $135 million by Monday.
