Star Wars is officially less than a week away from bringing back one of its most iconic, frightening, and seemingly eternal villains in Darth Maul. The new animated series Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord revisits the Sith Lord a year after the Clone Wars, as he takes up a new apprentice while rebuilding his criminal operations under the Empire's reign. Yet, while the Sam Witwer-voiced antagonist is the focus, the project also sparked excitement with the announcement that Academy Award nominee Wagner Moura would be joining as Brander Lawson, a local police detective bound to be on Maul's tail. The creative team had to keep it under wraps for quite some time that the star was involved, even as he was gaining international attention for his starring role in The Secret Agent last year.
