Star Trek under Alex Kurtzman had some significant missed opportunities, unfortunately. Since Star Trek: Discovery launched in 2017, Alex Kurtzman and his production company, Secret Hideout, oversaw Star Trek on Paramount+'s massive expansion, with six new TV series and a made-for-streaming movie. Led by Kurtzman, Star Trek also further embraced diversity and representation while also exploring new genres with Gene Roddenberry's 60-year-old creation.
