Two cast members reacted to Star Trek: Starfleet Academy getting canceled after Season 2 and Season 3 not happening.

Karim Diané, who plays Jay-Den Kraag on the show, shared on Instagram that they were ending it with Season 2. Still reeling from the news, he added that it was “really hard for [him] to say [this],” further stating that he deeply loved it. The actor noted that he got the opportunity to make 20 episodes for a series within “one of the most iconic sci-fi franchises of all time” alongside his fellow cast members, whom he called “some of the most talented and experienced artists in this entire industry.”

Diané pointed out that only 10 episodes were remaining before the series’ conclusion. He then teased how Season 2 would surpass Season 1 in quality. The actor said the former was like the latter but “turned all the way up.”

He concluded by promising fans that he would continue sharing behind-the-scenes content from the show. Diané also thanked fans for supporting him, his character, and the series as a whole.

Meanwhile, Raoul Bhaneja, who plays Chancellor Kelrec, expressed disappointment in its cancellation. “It’s hard not to feel a little sour,” he stated in his Instagram post. However, he assured that the upcoming season would be “super fun” while also teasing the main cast’s character development.

Moreover, he fondly recalled working with his costars, saying they all had a “great time.” Bhaneja continued, “It’s a testament to the cast and crew, who worked so hard collectively to bring you this universe, and that very special universe that it is.” He further stated, “But we can only be thankful for the opportunity that we all had together.” Bhaneja subsequently showed fans his Season 2-themed jacket, while expressing pride in his and the crew’s work on the show.
