As the release date of Nitesh Tiwari directorial Ramayana: Rise of a Legend nears, buzz surrounding the film is getting bigger. The posters and the trailer of the mythological epic have garnered a lot of attention for its characters and world building. Ramayana, which features Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash, got appreciation from ace filmmaker SS Rajamouli.

Rajamouli took to his social media handle and lauded Ramayana. He shared that it is a story every Indian storyteller grows up aspiring to narrate. He also expressed joy that Nitesh Tiwari and Namit Malhotra are bringing it to the screen on such a grand scale. While each actor brings the timeless characters (in Ramayana) to life with depth, Rajamouli added that he is looking forward to the film and wished them good luck.

Thanking Rajamouli, Nitesh Tiwari replied that his appreciation meant a lot to the entire unit.  Namit Malhotra too expressed gratitude to the Baahubali helmer for his words of encouragement. Namit added that like Rajamouli, they too tried to put their best foot forward for cinema on the world stage and wished him and the entire team of Varanasi good luck.

Rajamouli is connecting with the epic Ramayana through a major extended sequence in his upcoming film Varanasi, starring Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. The globetrotting action adventure features a massive, 20-minute sequence inspired by the Ramayana. The director shared that seeing Mahesh Babu transformed into Lord Rama for the sequence gave him goosebumps. Rajamouli further noted that he was never completely satisfied with earlier adaptations of epics like the Ramayana, and that he wanted to present the emotions with a unique visual scale. And hence, his comments on the Nitesh Tiwari directorial garnered significant attention
