Spaceballs 2 Update Confirms Rick Moranis Among 3 Returning Stars & Release Window

Spaceballs 2 now has its release plan confirmed, and one key star from the original is set to reprise his role. Released in 1987, the original Spaceballs featured Mel Brooks as director and co-writer, with the film serving as a clear parody of Star Wars. The film has since become a cult classic, and it was announced in summer 2024 that Spaceballs 2 was in the works at Amazon MGM Studios, with Brooks and Josh Gad producing, and Gad co-writing the script with Benji Samit and Dan Hernandez. It was rumored that Gad would also star in the film.
