98-year-old Mel Brooks (who turns 99 later this month) announced a sequel to Spaceballs, which came out 38 years ago. Spaceballs 2 will come to theaters in 2027 (and the 40th anniversary of the first film). Those in the know describe this film as "A non-prequel non-reboot sequel part two but with reboot elements franchise expansion".
Announced returning cast so far are Mel Brooks, Bill Pullman, and Rick Moranis. Newcomers announced so far are Keke Palmer (according to Deadline) and Josh Gad is rumored to star.
